Inspiration is when you feel a deep-rooted passion and motivation to do something.
At sunroot farm, we are inspired to farm.
OUR ROOTS
We love our roots. Sunroot Farm has been greatly inspired by our families and by values of hard-work, commitment, perseverance and passion for the garden.
Here is grand-maman Rita working on her land in the 1950’s… she would later pass on her love for fresh-from-the-garden carrots to her grandchildren.
Today, we are very proud of what our land becomes thanks to all who inspired us.
OUR SOILS
We love our soils. Compost and manure are like gold for us. We add both to help building living and healthy soils. Then we disturb as little as possible, the living web does most of the work. We use regenerative practices, crop rotation, cover crops, occultation and care to build soil fertility. No tractor is used.
OUR VEGGIES
We love our veggies. Fresh and tasty! We take good care of them and are grateful for every single one of them. We wish to keep produce in short channels of distribution. Local food is so important and we are very proud to feed a part of our community.
With row covers, we are able to extend our seasons in our Yukon context. In our opinion, our climate makes great, crispy and tasteful veggies!
OUR SUN
We love our sun. It is very precious and important to us. Every ray of sunshine makes this possible.
