What are microgreens?
Microgreens are young vegetable greens harvested just after their first leaves appear. They are small but they are packed with nutrients and offer vibrant, concentrated flavors—fresh, crisp, and full of life.
Almost any vegetable can be grown as a microgreen.
Why our microgreens?
At Sunroot Farm, we grow microgreens year-round to provide a reliable, high-quality local option for the Yukon. By growing indoors, we’re able to harvest fresh greens every week and deliver them in Whitehorse area.
Which microgreens we grow?
We grow a selection of fresh, flavorful microgreens year-round. We usually offer them together as a mixed blend for a balanced combination of taste, texture, and nutrition.
Arugula – spicy with a classic peppery bite
Broccoli – mild with a fresh, earthy flavor
Pea shoots – sweet, fresh, and crisp
Radish – bold, peppery, and vibrant
Sunflower – mild, nutty, and crunchy
How to order microgreens?
To place an order, simply send us a message.
Because we grow our microgreens to order, we require a minimum two-week lead time before your first delivery. This allows us to grow your greens fresh and harvest them at their peak.
Once you’re set up, you’ll receive a weekly supply of freshly harvested microgreens if that is what you are looking for.
How to use them
Microgreens are easy to use and fit effortlessly into everyday meals. Sprinkle them on eggs, soups, sandwiches, salads, or any dish that could use a boost of flavor and nutrition.
